Week 81 - Kachow!

"There is a direct connection between what you feel when you do a behaviour and the likelihood that you will repeat the behaviour in the future." (BJ Fogg)

In his book, Tiny Habits, BJ Fogg makes a strong case for using celebration to support the development of new habits. He calls on us to celebrate immediately, every time we manage to complete an action we hope to repeat. Personally, this is something that doesn't come naturally to me, but my young fella now gives a right good, "Kachow!" (in true Lightning McQueen fashion), on a daily basis, when he brings his plate over from the table to the dishwasher.

Question: How would you celebrate if you threw a piece of paper from a distance into a bin? Could this be helpful in giving yourself some kudos?

Action: Experiment with a celebration (e.g. do a subtle head nod, snap your fingers or think, "Good job!") when you manage to meet a goal this week.
