Week 75 - For my ears only

music i miss.jpg

“I wanted to have some sort of music for myself, a music that I didn’t have to share with my parents and my hippie-music-loving classmates.” (Beppo)

My book for dipping in and out of at the moment, is Punks Listen by Niall McGuirk and Michael Murphy. While reading it recently, I came across the above quote and it really resonated with me because I remember having the same feeling about Guns and Roses, back in the early 1990s. For a period of time, Guns and Roses seemed really only for me and my walkman, as I constantly flipped from side to side.

Question(s): How do you stand out from others around you? What do you embrace that makes you different from others?

Action: Head into Spotify (or wherever you get your music) and experiment with a genre you’ve never listened to before.
