Week 56 - Distracted

"When we feel discomfort and the threat of low mood, we want to get back to feeling lighter." (Dr. Julie Smith)

In her book, Smith highlights that a tendency to do something to distract us from our negative mood is very common. However, sometimes, there is a pay-off when we access these go-to responses (e.g. time, effort, health).

Question: What are your go-to distractions?

Action: Next time you're feeling in a low mood, try to connect with someone and talk through what you're at, as an alternative to distraction.
